Description
The APG Standardized UXO Technology Demonstration Site consists of calibration lanes, blind test grid, and open field area.
The design layout of the calibration lanes consists of at least 19 lanes. Seventeen lanes contain seven identical munitions buried in various orientations and three different depths. Designed to gather data on the sensor/detector ability to discriminate known targets.
The blind test grid will have alternating clear travel lanes between each target emplacement lane through both the horizontal and vertical planes of the site. Munitions (same type as in the calibration lanes)/site-specific munitions and clutter targets will be buried at various depths and at various orientations. This information will not be available to the demonstrator. Designed to test and score the performance of sensors/detectors ability to discriminate targets under ideal field conditions.
The design of the open field site will provide the demonstrator with a variety of realistic scenarios. These scenarios may consist of cleared woods, high impact areas, power lines, roads, rough terrain, and wet areas. The open field area will contain the same types of munitions as the calibration lanes and blind test grid. The items (munitions and clutter) will be buried at specific locations, depths, and orientations. This information will not be available to the demonstrator.
Designed to test and score the performance of sensors/detectors ability to discriminate targets under realistic field conditions.
